Specialist IT recruitment, founder-led.
Stormcrest is an Adelaide-based specialist recruiter for IT roles across Australia, covering fifteen practice areas, with cyber security as our flagship, alongside software, cloud, data, project delivery and architecture.
Our mission
Specialist IT talent for Australia, found honestly.
01 · The founder
Ryan Walker, Founder and Director
Ryan founded Stormcrest to give Australian employers and IT professionals a more straightforward recruitment experience, with clear fees, honest feedback and a consultant who understands the work.
Before Stormcrest, Ryan built his career delivering technology programs in a variety of sectors across the EMEA region and at home in Australia. He has spent years working alongside engineers, project teams and security specialists, and he knows what separates a strong technical hire from a CV that just ticks boxes.
Based in Adelaide and working with clients across Australia, Ryan handles every search personally, from the first brief to the final offer. He recruits across fifteen IT practice areas, with a particular focus on cyber security.
He keeps things simple: tell clients the truth about the market, tell candidates where they stand, and publish fees so nobody is guessing.
02 · What we stand for
Four principles.
01 · Specialist
IT first
Fifteen practice areas across the IT function, plus a small set of technical trade and driver roles close to that work. We'd rather say no than send a weak shortlist.
02 · Transparent
Fees in the open
Permanent fees are published, with our terms summarised in plain English.
03 · Accurate
Nothing overstated
Not experience, not timelines, not clearances. If something is pending or uncertain, we say so.
04 · Discreet
Careful with information
Consent before every submission. We never handle classified material. We follow the Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles.
03 · Where we work
Adelaide-based. Australia-wide.
Based in Adelaide, South Australia, and recruiting nationally for private-sector, government and Defence industry employers, including remote roles across Australia.
04 · Equal opportunity
Equal opportunity and inclusion.
We welcome candidates of every background, age, gender, sexuality, culture, faith and ability. We assess people on their ability to do the work and on the genuine requirements of the role.
Where a role has an inherent requirement, such as Australian citizenship for a security clearance, we explain it upfront rather than screening people out quietly.
If you need an adjustment at any stage of the recruitment process, tell us. With your consent, we'll arrange it with the employer. We won't act on a brief that would unlawfully discriminate.
Speak with the founder directly.
Whether you're hiring or considering your next role, you'll usually hear back within one business day.
